First timer paddlers…we’re excited to have you! Welcome to this wonderful, exciting new sport. We recommend a beginner lesson before renting equipment. Also, if you’re interested in the Paddle Strong Class and are new to the sport, not to worry…the first portion of class we’ll provide you with thorough paddle instruction and the chance to paddle around to get familiar with the equipment. No doubt, after the first try, you’ll be hooked!

Wear what is comfortable for you. We recommend lightweight Yoga attire. Particularly shorts or cropped pants. In the Summer, some people chose to wear a swimsuit. However, on colder days, bring something long sleeved. Hat and sunglasses are helpful. And of course, sunscreen too. If you get warm while you’re out on the board, there are cargo nets on the nose of the board to keep your belongings safe ( and sometimes dry). Keep your electronics in a dry bag or leave them ashore.

A water bottle is a good idea. All other equipment needed for is provided. However, it doesn’t hurt to bring a towel and perhaps a change of clothes just in case. Whether you fall in or not, your clothes will get a little damp either way. Please don’t bring unnecessary valuables along, however you may keep valuables at our lock up at Base Camp’s trailer site.
